The GSO budget is voted on each year by department delegates. The money is used for various events (e.g., Grad Expo, Elizabeth Baranger Teaching Award) and funding (e.g., travel grants). Each department is also allocated a portion of the budget, based on department enrollment, to be used as the department sees fit.

The GSO fiscal year starts on May 01 and runs through April 30.* The yearly budget is voted on at the March or April meeting of the spring semester.
*Note: The University fiscal year runs from July 01-June 30. The GSO fiscal year is different because of the way our summer Administrative Assistant is paid. If you have questions about the budget or how funds are disbursed to departments, please contact the A&S GSO Administrative Assistant.
